Fleet Service Agreement (FSA)
FSA is a firm agreement between a ship/rig operator and Norsafe, for regular service, mandatory inspections, training and spares. Operational readiness taken care of, in a pro-active way.
In July 2006 revised SOLAS guidelines were put in place with new requirements for inspections, general maintenance and training of personnel. In the revised version of SOLAS it is clearly stated that service, repair and inspections “should be conducted by the manufacturer’s representative or a person appropriately trained and certified by the manufacturer for the work to be done.” As the original equipment manufacturer with over a hundred years of experience, we know exactly how important competent service is on our equipment. We encourage our customers to contact Norsafe if they are ever in doubt of the competence or certification of service engineers. When the annual or five-year service has been completed a certificate of serviceability is issued for all LSA equipment. Annual inspections are conducted in accordance with the requirements stated in MSC 1206.

Delivery Of New Equipment
Norsafe has a lifetime service philosphy, and we aim to serve our clients in a professional way, throughout the entire lifetime of the LSA Equipment.
Life boats and davits are usually subjected to extreme weather conditions, such as corrosion from salt water and extreme temperature changes. Therefore, maintenance is crucial to ensure 100% operational capacity in case of an emergency. Norsafe provides annual and 5 year service inspections conducted by our highly qualified and certified service engineers in accordance with SOLAS requirements.
• Delivery of new equipment.
• Commisioning and startup of the LSA systems.
• Operational Training.
• Preventive maintenance training.
• Technical support.
• Regular and intermediate inspections.
• Spare parts.
• Mandatory annual and 5 yearly inspections.
• Return and destruction of old lifeboats.
Lack of maintenance is not only a threat to safety but it is also costly in the long run. Typical examples of incurred costs are port detention and platform production stop. In many cases entire LSA systems have to be replaced due to their condition and this is both expensive and time consuming. There is no misalignment between maintenance and cost control. Our objectives are clear; to deliver excellent service that ensures a long lifespan & fully-operational LSA equipment.

Technical Studies and GAP Analysis for Life Saving Equipment
Norsafe has extensive experience conducting studies and GAP analyses on LSA equipment and regulations such as SOLAS, DNV-OS-406, Norskok R002 and NMD 853, especially for corporations operating on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and offshore in general. All our studies are individually tailored for customer and product.
The main objective behind a GAP study is to identify misalignment between onboard lifeboat equipment and current, upcoming and local regulations. Norsafe performs a comprehensive analysis that enables the operator to make informative decisions regarding their future Life Saving Equipment needs in light of regulations the operator is or will be subjected to. Norsafe will document through thorough academic studies the gaps between regulations and equipment and advice on concrete compensating actions that can be taken in order to meet new regulations, with safest and cost in mind. Not to mention ensuring that the installation is not forced to shut down operations
Rental Of Testing Equipment And Rescue Boat
Simulated Free Fall test kit
The simulated free fall solution is an independent system that latches on to the boat and secures it thorough 4 metal plates. This allows for testing of the release mechanism without actually performing a free fall drop. The simulated free fall system complies with current regulation (SOLAS; part B, regulation 19 – “Emergency training and drills”) which states that free fall systems must be tested and released regularly. In short, this means that the operator does not have to spend time and resources getting the lifeboat back into the davit, nor make extensive preparations as associated with standard lifeboat testing.
Special equipment to prove the over load release test of release mechanism for free fall lifeboats.
As required by SOLAS every 5-year inspection. The equipment will eliminate the requirement to fill the lifeboat with test loads
Hydraulic equipment to test overload Hook Simulations release kit
As required by SOLAS every 5 year inspection or after re-hooking
Water pillow bag
For load test of lifeboat as required by SOLAS chapter III, regulation 20.
The kits is compete packed in a box with lifting arrangement, flow meter, filling hoses and drain pump
For load test of lifeboat davit as required by SOLAS chapter III, regulation 20.
Water bags come complete with calibrated load cells all packed in box with lifting equipment
